Damanhour University initiative to include Rosetta under the umbrella of UNESCO

 

 

Damanhour University Rector accompanied a French delegation at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina

 

 

Hosted by Professor Mustafa El Fiqi (Director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina) on the sidelines of the Rashid Forum.

 

He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ebeed Saleh, Damanhour University Rector.

 

The delegation included  HE Mrs. Nadia Abdu (Governor of El-Beheira) and Prof. Nadia Andraus (Professor Emeritus of Faculty of Education),

 

Mr. Herve Champlion (representative of the Champlion family) and Ms. Catherine Collan (Director of the Paris Art Museum),

 

Dr. Ghada Ghattouri (Dean of the Faculty of Education), Mr. Al-Lewa'a, General Secretary of Al-Beheira Governorate

 

well as a number of members of the University staff members and the French Language Department.

 

Dr. Ebeed Saleh, University Rector, said that this visit comes on the sidelines of the forum ‘Rashid the land of  memory ‘

 

and a part of the  university's support in the preparation of the accreditation file for   the city of Rashid to be selected by UNESCO

 

as a city of international and human heritage. He asserted the keenness of the university to put all of  its expertise and potentials

 

in the service of   El Behiera Governorate  work to make the city of Rashid an  open international museum that tells

 

the story of  the Egyptian civilization, humanity and the struggle of the people of Egypt through the ages and discuss ways

 

of cooperation with the governorate  to develop the city of Rashid to put it on the map of world tourism which was within

 

the vision of the political leadership, especially after the Egyptian-French presidential initiative to make

 

2019 the year of Egyptian-Frenchfriendship and culture
