Minister of Higher Education praises Damanhur University's awareness

role in celebrating October victories

Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasizedthat,

as part of their awareness and service role, the universities celebrate the anniversary of October victories

and historical events as the university is not only an educational institution,

but it  is also linked to society in various cultural and social aspects.

In this context, the Minister reviewed a report submitted by Dr. Tayie Abdel Latif, Minister's Advisor for Student Activities

and General Supervisor of the Institute of Leadership Development in Helwan,

on the celebrations of universities (Damanhour, Kafr El-Sheih, Fayoum, Assiut, Damietta, Sohag)

on the 46^th anniversary of the glorious October victories titled "New Crossing", during the period from 1 to 15 October.

The report noted that the celebrations included heroic story and artistic performances, awareness seminars,

meetings with heroes of the armed forces in addition to cultural and art exhibitions.

The report pointed out that within the universities' keenness to enhance the students' belonging and national sense,

introducing them to the greatness of the Egyptian armed forces and the value of the victory of the glorious October,

which restored the dignity, pride, and land of the country, as well as the strength of the Egyptian army and its status globally.

The report added that Damanhour University conducted many events to celebrate the victories of the glorious October War

in order to introduce students to the issues and history of our country, and the role of the army forces

in defending national security, and to attract their attention towards the stories of the sacrifices

and heroism given by the soldiers during the war.
