Summary
This thesis includes three chapters. The first chapter is the introduction which is a eral review of the synthesis of substituted pyrazoles, starting from ten different classes j precursors. These classes of starting materials are diketones, diketone carboxylic acids tzd esters, acetylenic compounds, chalcones, pyrazolines, heterocydic compounds, imine jerivatives, 3-chlorovinylketones, 1,4-dianions of phenyihydrazones having an a-hydrogen d finally from sugar hydràzones.
The second chapter is the discussion, which describes the work carried out by the candidate on the synthesis of new acyihydrazones, oxadiazoles, from substituted formyltriazole. Synthesis of new a, - unsaturated ketones, acyihydrazones, arylhydrazones, pyrazolines, pyrazoles, suiphonylureas and suiphonyithioureas, thiazolidinones, thiazinones, 8-unsaturated 1 ,3-clicarbonyl esters, isoxazole esters, oxyquinoxalines, acyihydrazone esters, pyrazole esters, thiosemicarbazides, thiotriazoles, thiadiazoles, oxadiazoles, thioureas, 2- iminothiazolidinones and 2- iminothiazinones. The structure of these compounds was elucidated by elemental analyses and by using a variety of spectroscopic techniques including infrared, ultraviolet, ‘H NMR and mass spectra.
A series of new acylhydrazones (5) (Scheme I) were prepared from condensation of 2-(4-chlorophenyl) -4-formyltriazole with acylhydrazines, which upon dehydrogenation gave 3,5- disubstituted oxadiazoles (6).
