Damanhour University Participates in the 3rd Inclusive Higher Education Conference
"Pursuing Accessible University Studies in Egypt"
Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Abdel-Hamid El-Sayed Abdel-Hamid - Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs,
Damanhour University participated in the third conference for the integration of students
with disabilities in higher education under the title " Pursuing Accessible University Studies in Egypt "
to spread awareness of the issue of integrating students with disabilities in higher education.
The conference is an essential part of the Public Universities Grants Program within the Higher Education
Initiative that is managed by AMIDEAST Egypt with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
with support from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to establish service centers for students
with disabilities in 20 Egyptian public universities.
The conference included some discussion sessions on how higher education institutions achieve inclusion
through sustainable practices aimed at ensuring equal educational service for students with disabilities
to encourage them participate in higher education.
The conference is a remarkable opportunity to build and consolidate a strong network
of relationships among employees in the sector of development of persons with disabilities,
civil society organizations, and those working in the field of inclusive education in Egypt.
