The sector of postgraduate and research is concerned to:

•        Participate drawing the general policy of higher education, research and cultural affairs and preparing executive plans and programs to perform this policy.
•        Suggest systems, programs and methodology of higher education in the faculties of the University.
•        Follow the scientific developments and methods of higher education in the advanced universities and to employ these developments improving systems and programs of higher studies in the faculties of the University.
•        Apply the determined regulation of postgraduate in the faculties of the University and to present technical support developing it and recognizing the problems applying it.
•        Pursuit applying the programs which aim to develop scientific research, to provide its requirement, to publish research and to evaluate its outcomes trying to achieve the perfect bond between University research and the community.
•        Follow the movement of scientific research in the University and to apply regulation to make maximum benefit of resources dedicated to research.
•        Establish an archive about the University in the foreign universities.
•        Take the executive procedures to apply the decisions of the council of postgraduate and research and to supply it with information.
•        Prepare projects to be presented to the concerned authorities.
•        Prepare all periodical and annual reports about the activities of the sector to be presented to its presidency.
